Post Mortem Press

I just got my contributor copy of Shadowplay in the mail.  I don't have a story in this one, however I did write the introduction.  I have to say that this is a fine collection of horror tales with several serious gems.  After reading a galley of the book I was very pleased to have been asked to write the introduction.  If you buy the book, I hope my opening words act as an appetizer for the gruesome feast that is Shadowplay.

I would suggest that anyone who enjoys good horror fiction should head on over to Post Mortem Press' website and have gander at what they are doing.  They have four anthologies and a novel in print with much more to come.

*Shameless plug alert*  I also suggest their first anthology Uncanny Allegories featuring my story "A Night to Last Forever" which closes out the anthology and hopefully makes the reader hungry for more.

Seasons in the Abyss -- Coming Soon!

That's right, Blood Bound Books is at it again with their release of Seasons in the Abyss, the flash fiction anthology that covers horror in each of the four seasons.  I am proud to say that I will have three stories in this book: "In Bloom" for spring, "Trapped Under Ice" for Winter, and a runner up for their seasons contest "Nature is a Cruel Beast" for Summer.  Three out of four ain't bad.

76 Stories. 4 Seasons. 1 book. Welcome to the Abyss! If you stay awhile, you’ll find that horror is always in the forecast, regardless of the time of year. This anthology of flash fiction will be available on Feb. 1, 2011.

Pantomime on Kindle

Pantomime is now available at Amazon.com on Kindle for only $3.99.  What a sweet deal that is.  Buy it HERE!

Enjoy four twisted tales of horror from demons to paranoia, murder to an animated corpse.  You're sure to enjoy "Pantomime", "The Old Man", "A Step Toward Redemption", and "A Crack in the Silver Lining".  When you're finished reading the book, please leave a review on amazon.  By doing this you will greatly help other folks decide whether to purchase the book or not.  Although I don't see any reason why they wouldn't want to buy it...

In the Year of 2011

I'm guessing we all have grandiose ideas of what we would like to accomplish in 2011.  I certainly do.  As a writer sometimes we already have our accomplishments mapped out ahead of time such as the release of Malicious Deviance, my next anthology as editor, and several short stories I will have published in 2011 such as "Back for More" in Necrotic Tissue, "Beneath the Floorboards" in The Scroll of Anubus (Library of Horror), and "Glutton for Punishment" in D.O.A. (Blood Bound Books) to name a few.  A chapbook containing three short stories titled Pantomime is out as well (see post below -- it's sort of last days of 2010/2011).  I am also slated to write the introduction for a release from Post Mortem Press.

I had hoped to sell my first novel last year without success.  It was accepted by a publisher, but we couldn't agree on contractual terms.  Another publisher requested the full manuscript, so I am anxious to hear their decision.  In 2011 I plan to finish my second novel, write many more short stories and novellas, and to break into professional magazines.  I was notified just last week that a pro-rate zine I am a huge fan of has short listed one of my stories.  My fingers are duly crossed.

I will be compiling my third anthology Through the Eyes of the Undead 2 (still open for guidelines -- see earlier post), and who knows, I may tackle another anthology.  In the writing biz I've found that opportunity knocks sometimes when you least expect it.

I'm hoping for great accomplishment in 2011.  How 'bout you?

Cheers!

Check out my latest flash fiction horror story at Everyday Weirdness called "An Abominable San Diego Winter".  What happens when San Diego is hit with an unfathomable blizzrd?  Strange happens.  Check it out HERE.
